Funeral Program

The Funeral Program is available to the family for the funeral of a Gumala Member. The amount depends on the level of support from the Department of Families. The family decide which of their family members can receive assistance for fuel so that they can attend the funeral and generally how the money is spent -- food for the wake, flowers, funeral clothes, etc.

Funeral Travel Assistance

This program is designed to assist with the expenses associated with travel to any funeral. The grant is available to help cover all costs associated with travel. Applicants must be attending the funeral themselves to be eligible to apply for funding.

Headstone Program

The Headstone Program enables the family to buy a Headstone for persons who have been deceased for some time, where there are no markings to identify the grave site and where for cultural reasons a marking is important.

Lore and Culture Travel Assistance

This program is designed to assist with expenses associated with travel to Lore ceremonies. The grant is available to cover all costs associated with the travel to Lore ceremonies, including bus or air fares as well as fuel and food on the journey. Applicants must be attending a Lore Ceremony to be eligible to apply.
