Gumala Contracting
Established in 1997, Gumala Contracting provides a full range of civil earthmoving, contract mining and miscellaneous works across the Pilbara region. Utilizing a skilled and experienced workforce, we are adept at completing tasks ranging from general road maintenance, through to project specific requirements such as the installation of culverts, maintenance of stockpiles, and clearing of vegetation.
The company operates a full suite of plant and equipment, including graders, dozers, excavators, water trucks, tippers, loaders and rollers, allowing it to compete for projects ranging from small one-off projects through to recurring long-term contracts. Past projects have included pad and road construction at Rio Tinto’s Brockman 4 mine site, the design and construction of large culverts and a haul road at Nammuldi. The company has also recently been awarded a large mining contract at Hope Downs.
Gumala Contracting is committed to the employment of local Indigenous people, and is a market leader in this area. Recognizing that its Indigenous workforce is a major asset, the company has developed and implemented a range of programs and initiatives to recruit, develop and retain valuable Indigenous employees.
Gumala Contracting sees its people, exemplary safety record and commitment to the sustainable future of the communities in which it works as its major strengths, and this, along with its commitment to providing its clients with a service second to none, saw the company recognized as a finalist in the Rio Tinto Supplier Recognition Awards in early 2009.
